Flash is difficult to incorporate in CSS2/XHTML documents, and requires a bit of work coding. XHTML does not really have a method for dealing with Macromedia – and clearly this part of the protocol needs greater thought.
The following snippet shows how flash needs coding to be XHTML compliant:
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="images/home/topbar_homedark2.swf" width="916" height="200">
<param name="movie" value="images/home/topbar_homedark2.swf" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
</object>
This is known as the ‘Satay’ method.
You will note that the flash has been incorporated somewhat like an Activex control rather than the way it is usually included.
